Sine for Outlook add-in

This guide takes you through the setup and use of Sine for Outlook add-in, providing a simpler way to manage invitations from Outlook.

The Sine for Outlook add-in provides an easier way to manage invitations directly from Microsoft Outlook. Removing additional confirmation steps and streamlining the process for staff across your organisation.

To access this add-in, you will require a Sine Large or Enterprise plan for your site.

Requirements:

  • Microsoft 365

  • Exchange Online

  • Mac 2016, 2019, 2021 One Time Purchase

  • Windows 2019, 2021 One Time Purchase

You must have a Sine account on an Enterprise plan.

On-premises Exchange Server is not supported currently.

How to install the Sine for Outlook add-in

Install the add-in company wide thru centralised deployment in Microsoft 365

You can install Sine for Outlook by using the Centralized Deployment feature in the Microsoft 365 admin center. When asked, choose "I have a URL for the Manifest file" and insert the following file: https://dashboard.sine.co/outlook-embedded-client/manifest.xml

Install the add-in from Microsoft AppSource

O365 Admins:

  1. Click “Get it Now"

Individuals on Mac:

Outlook Desktop App

  1. In your Outlook inbox, look for “Get Add-ins” in the toolbar.

  2. In the new window that opens, search for “Sine” in the top right corner.

  3. Click “Add” on the Sine for Outlook add-in.

Outlook on Web

  1. Open your Calendar, create an event

  2. Expand the event details to expose “Get Add-ins” in the toolbar.

  3. In the new window that opens, search for “Sine” in the top right corner.

  4. Click “Add” on the Sine for Outlook add-in.

Individuals on PC:

  1. Open the Outlook desktop app

  2. Go to Email, then click “Store” in the toolbar.

  3. In the new window that opens, Search for “Sine” in the top corner.

  4. Click “Add” on the Sine for Outlook add-in.

Install the add-in individually (not listed on Microsoft AppSource)

Note: Individual download may be restricted on desktop apps provided organisation level restrictions.

Clients using Mac OS

Outlook on Web

  • Open your Calendar, create an event.

  • Expand the event details to expose “Get Add-ins” in the toolbar.

  • In the new window that opens, select “My add-ins".

  • Scroll down to “Custom Add-ins”

Outlook Desktop App

Clients using Windows:

  • Open the Outlook app

  • Select Home, then select “Get Add-ins” in the toolbar. For Office 365 users, go to “File”, select “Manage Add-ins".

  • In the new window that opens, select “My add-ins".

  • Scroll down to “Custom Add-ins”

Creating and syncing an invite in the Sine for Outlook add-in

To get started, open the Outlook application and navigate to your calendar. If you have multiple calendars, ensure you are in the one linked to your Sine host email address.

Create an event as you normally would, entering the date, time, event name—then add your attendees.

Once your basic details are entered, select the Sine add-in from the toolbar.

Note: If this is your first time launching the add-in you will be prompted to log in using your Sine credentials.

To create your invitation, select the Site and Visitor Type. Then, you will be prompted to enter the First and Last Name. If your site has a required Zone, you will be able to select this here.

Finally, there is the option to add a note to the invite. These notes are internal only and appear on the dashboard for Sine users, they are not visible to the invitee.

When you are ready to send your invite, click Create Invitation. This triggers the invitation to be created in Sine.

Editing an invite with the add-in

If you are unable to install the Sine for Outlook add-in, it is likely that your Outlook settings and permissions are managed by your organisation. In this instance, your first port of call should be your company's IT administrator.

To update an invite, launch the add-in from the event edit view in Outlook. You will then be able to make sure your changes to the event are reflected in the Sine add-in, before selecting Update to confirm these.

Troubleshooting the Sine for Outlook add-in

Contact your company administrator

If you are unable to install the Sine for Outlook add-in, it is likely that your Outlook settings and permissions are managed by your organisation. In this instance, your first port of call should be your company's IT administrator.

Ensure your Sine host account is verified

To use the add-in you must have a verified host account in Sine. You can confirm account verification from the My Profile section of the Sine web dashboard.
