Enabling host selection

To set up hosts by visitor type, you'll first need to configure host selection on check-in. You can learn more about enabling host selection in our support article here.

Host directory

When checking in, visitors can use the host lookup to search for their host using their first and last name. If the show host directory site setting is enabled, visitors will also have the option to navigate and filter through hosts and host groups using the host directory.

The host directory will show for guests during the following check-in experiences:

  • SinePoint Pro (Kiosk app)

  • Sine Pro (Mobile app)

  • Web check-in

Example of host lookup and directory on Sine Pro

To enable host directory for visitors:

  1. Click the locations button from the sidebar navigation

  2. Select your desired site

  3. Under the general settings tab, navigate to the hosts section and ensure the show host directory setting is enabled.

Private and public host groups

By default all host groups are public and available from the host lookup and directory. Private host groups are a limited availability feature where hosts can be completely hidden from both the host lookup and the host directory. Only guests with a valid invitation will be able to check in to see a private host.

Note: Private hosts are only available to select customers, please use the chat bubble in the dashboard or contact [email protected] if you would like access to private hosts.

Hiding host groups in the directory

Public host groups can be hidden in the host directory depending on your guests' selected visitor type.

This feature is currently in early access and available for Medium+ plan sites only, please use the chat bubble in the dashboard or contact [email protected] if you would like display host groups by visitor types.

  1. Under the general settings tab, navigate to the visitor types section and click on the pencil icon to edit a visitor type's settings

  2. Using the Hide host groups drop-down, select public host groups you'd like to hide from the host directory for the selected visitor type

  3. After saving your configuration, guests will no longer be able to filter or navigate between hidden host groups when checking in.

Note: While public host groups can be hidden from the host directory, they could still be found by guests when searching for host by their first and last name.
