Sine allows site and team administrators to configure an early check-in window for invited guests. This feature allows visitors to check in within a specified timeframe before their scheduled invitation start time.

Setting up an early check-in window

The early check-in window site setting allows invited guests to check in before their scheduled invitation start time. Administrators can configure this window to be between 15 and 60 minutes.

Please note
By default, all sites are configured with a 15-minute early check-in window.

To set up a early check-in window for your guests:

  1. Click on the locations menu item from the core sidebar navigation

  2. Select your desired site

  3. Under the passes tab, navigate to the Check-in requirements section where you will find the Early check-in window setting.

Interaction with other settings

The early check-in window interacts with two key pass settings: "Invitation Required" and "Limit 'Invitation Required' Start Time."

Invitation required

The Invitation required pass setting allows you to specify which visitor types must have an invitation to check in. When enabled, guests of that visitor type must have a valid invitation to complete their check-in.

Limit 'invitation required' start time

This setting only applies to visitor types that are marked as "Invitation required". When enabled, it restricts guests to checking in exactly at or after their invitation start time, effectively setting their early check-in window to 0 minutes.

When disabled, all invited guests will be able to check-in during the early check-in window.

The experience for your guests

Early check-in is designed to create a more flexible, frictionless experience for your guests while maintaining site security and compliance requirements.

We built the early check in setting in response to feedback from customers who often saw guests arriving early, only to be turned away and forced to wait. By allowing administrators to expand the check-in window, we're working to help you eliminate frustration and create smoother experiences for your visitors on site.

Your guests will be able to utilize early check-in across a few of our check-in platforms. We'll explain how invited guests can check in before their invitation start time using SinePro mobile app, Web check-in, and SinePoint Pro kiosks.

SinePoint Pro (iPadOS)

Our kiosk application, SinePoint Pro, offers two ways for guests to use early check-in:

  1. Fast track: When enabled, invited guests can scan or enter their Fast track QR or 6-digit code (provided in their invitation email) on SinePoint Pro.

  2. Invite check-in by name search: When enabled, as guests enter their details during check-in, SinePoint Pro automatically searches for and matches any valid invitation in the background.

Both examples will function within the early check-in window.

Web check-in

Please note
Fast Track pre-registration is currently in early access and available to a limited set of customers. This feature allows guests to pre-fill their Fast track details before arrival.

Using Web check-in invited guests will be able to use the early check-in window through their Fast Track pre-registration link included in their invitation email. After completing Fast Track pre-registration, guests will see their invitation details screen.

If the web check-in setting is enabled, guests will be able to check in from the invitation details screen when they're within the early check-in window. Attempts outside this timeframe will be rejected.

Sine Pro (iOS & Android)

Invited guests using the SinePro iOS or Android mobile app will see any upcoming invitation on their home screen.

Outside of the check-in window, any attempts to check-in will be rejected. When within the early check-in window, guests can initiate check-in directly from this screen.
